  • Hearing Testing.

Getting your hearing tested is no more difficult then getting your vision tested. During your in-depth hearing assessment our hearing professional will inspect your ears and test which frequencies you’re able to hear clearly. Through this assessment along with a discussion about your lifestyle and needs, we’ll help you determine which device will be the most beneficial to you.

  • Custom Earplugs.

The CDC reports high rates of tinnitus and hearing loss among industrial and all workers, but custom ear plugs can prevent both by reducing exposure to loud sounds. Our ear plugs are comfortable, tailored to your needs, and suitable for various activities such as riding motorcycles or sleeping next to a snoring partner. With our wide variety of earplugs, you can find the perfect fit to keep your ears healthy and protected.

  • Direct Billing.

At our clinic, we understand that financial assistance for hearing care can be a concern for some of our clients. That's why we are happy to inform you that most of our clients are eligible for funding through various programs such as Alberta Aids to Daily Living, DVA, RCMP, NIHB, ASEBP, GSC, WCB, AISH, and Blue Cross. We take the hassle out of the process by billing directly to the benefit program that's most suitable for you, ensuring you have access to the care you need without the added stress.

  • Payment Plan.

We recognize that investing in your hearing health is an important decision. That's why we offer custom payment solutions to help make the purchase of new hearing aids more manageable. We work with you to first explore any funding assistance that may be available through benefit programs, and then provide flexible payment options for any remaining balance. Additionally, hearing aids, batteries, tests, and services purchased through our clinic are tax-deductible expenses on line 33099 and 33199 of your income tax forms. You can also claim them as a medical expense for a dependent, such as an elderly family member. Our goal is to make your hearing care as accessible and stress-free as possible.

  • Trial Offer.

All our hearing aids come with a 30 day money back trial offer. We know that our clinic and your home are entirely different hearing environments. So, we want you to experience your new hearing device at home, at work and around your family. During the trial period you’ll also be able to exchange your device to a different manufacturer or style if you choose. The end of the trial doesn’t mean the end of your service. Hearing loss as we age.

Age-related hearing loss is a gradual loss of hearing ability that occurs as a natural part of the aging process known as presbycusis. It typically affects both ears and tends to progress slowly over time.

As we age, the tiny hair cells in our inner ear responsible for transmitting sound to the brain can become damaged or die, resulting in hearing loss. This type of hearing loss is most commonly seen in individuals over the age of 60, although it can occur earlier in life as well.

However, it's important to note that hearing loss can also be caused by other factors such as exposure to loud noises, certain medications, workplace sound exposure, infections, and genetics. Therefore, it is always recommended to consult a healthcare professional if you are experiencing hearing loss or any changes in your hearing ability, regardless of your age.

The best way to detect hearing loss and how it impacts you is with regular hearing tests. We recommend that men and women over the age of 40 get hearing tests once every two years. After the age of 60 once per year.

Three common signs that you may have hearing loss.

  • Needing to increase the volume on the television or radio louder than others prefer can be a sign of hearing loss because it suggests that the individual is struggling to hear sounds at lower volumes. This could be due to damage to the hair cells found in the inner ear, which are responsible for detecting sound waves and transmitting them to the brain. If these hair cells become damaged, it may be more difficult to hear sounds at lower volumes, prompting the need to increase the volume. This may also cause difficulty in understanding conversation, especially in noisy environments. It's critical to seek medical attention if you notice any changes in your hearing, as there may be underlying conditions or factors that contribute to hearing loss. Our hearing care provider will evaluate your hearing and assess for indications of hearing loss at several frequencies to identify which sounds you may struggle with and how to best support your hearing.

  • Difficulty hearing high-pitched sounds is an indication of hearing loss since the hair cells responsible for detecting these sounds are positioned deep inside the inner ear. These hair cells are particularly sensitive to damage caused by exposure to loud noises over time, aging, or medications. When these cells are damaged, the ability to detect high-pitched sounds, such as a doorbell or a child's voice, can be diminished. This is referred to as high-frequency hearing loss and is frequently one of the first symptoms of hearing impairment.

  • Frequently asking individuals to repeat themselves can be a warning sign of hearing loss since it indicates that the individual is having difficulty understanding what is being said. Hearing loss can make it harder to detect certain sounds or frequencies, which can result in speech sounding muffled or unclear. Consequently, individuals with hearing loss may need others to speak more slowly, loudly, or distinctly, or may need to ask them to repeat themselves many times to grasp what was said. This can be frustrating for both the person with hearing loss and the people they are conversing with. To determine if hearing loss is the root cause, it is advisable to schedule a hearing test with our practioner if you frequently ask others to repeat themselves.

Family Owned and Operated for over 20 years.

For two decades, our clinic has been a proud family-owned and operated business, right here in the heart of Leduc. Our founder, Fadel, pursued his passion for hearing healthcare by graduating with honours from the prestigious Hearing Aid Practitioner program at Grant MacEwan. Fadel's legacy of serving the Leduc community extends far beyond his work at Leduc Hearing Clinic. Prior to his work in hearing healthcare, Fadel owned and operated a Home Hardware store, which stood where the ATB bank now stands. For many years, he faithfully served customers in the Leduc area, building a reputation for exceptional service and a deep commitment to his community. Fadel's dedication to service continued throughout his life, as he raised his family in this close-knit community. At Leduc Hearing Clinic, we honor Fadel's legacy by continuing to provide the same level of exceptional service and commitment to our community that he embodied.

Even though Fadel passed away in 2013, his legacy lives on as his daughter, Juliana, who also graduated from Grant MacEwan's Hearing Aid Practitioner program, now owns and leads our clinic. Patient safety and satisfaction are paramount, and our owner and operator, Juliana, embodies this philosophy. Her unwavering commitment to our clients' well-being is rooted in her belief that the work we do has a positive impact on our patients and their families. As someone who has lived with hearing impairment since childhood, Juliana brings a unique perspective to our clinic, as well as a deep well of compassion and empathy for our patients. With Juliana at the helm, we are honored to provide our clients with the highest standard of care and a listening ear when they need it most.

We understand that a warm welcome is essential to creating a comfortable and supportive environment for our patients. That's why we are proud to have Marlene, Fadel's wife and Juliana's mother, at the helm of our front desk. With many years of experience serving the senior community of Leduc at Plainview Manor, Marlene brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our clinic. She ensures that our patients feel welcomed, comfortable, remembered and supported from the moment they step through our doors. Marlene's personal experience with hearing aids gives her a unique perspective and understanding of our patients' needs. As someone who wears hearing aids herself, Marlene can empathize with our patients' experiences and offer insights and support from a place of personal experience.

The passion for healthcare excellence runs deep in our family, and we are proud to have another of Fadel and Marlene's children, Jasser, involved in our family business. Jasser brings a wealth of healthcare experience to our clinic, as he is also an accomplished ultrasound technologist right here in Leduc, helping patients receive various diagnostic tests. At our clinic, Jasser is responsible for managing our online presence, creating innovative marketing strategies, and ensuring our clients' satisfaction. With his expertise and commitment to providing exceptional care, we can continue to deliver the highest standards of hearing healthcare to our community.
