Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need a hearing aid?

You may have noticed yourself asking people to repeat themselves. You or your family may have noticed that your phone and television volume are much higher than they are for most people. Unfortunately, for people with hearing loss the most important signs are in what they don’t notice. These are the parts of conversation they’re missing out on and the sounds they don’t hear. Ultimately the best way to know if your hearing can be improved through a hearing device is to book a no-obligation hearing test with our professional team. We’ll assess your hearing and help you determine if you’re loss is significant enough to require a hearing aid. Sometimes your hearing loss may be too minimal to achieve a vast improvement with a hearing aid. And, conversely some people have such a vast hearing loss that even the best hearing aids won’t help them very much. Most of our clients are somewhere in between. We’ll help you determine what’s right for you.

Do you offer direct billing?

Yes we do. We bill directly to your insurance provider or if you prefer you can submit the receipts yourself. We also work with several government and private organizations through their benefit program such as WCB, Alberta Aid to Daily Living, AISH, RCMP, Blue Cross etc. Additionally, your hearing aid purchase, service, testing and batteries can all be claimed as a medical tax deduction on your income taxes with the Canada Revenue Agency when purchased through our qualified hearing professionals. You can even claim them as a tax deduction for dependents such as an elder parent you may care for. More info can be found HERE.

How do I know if I’m choosing the right hearing aid for me?

There are many factors to consider including budget, amount of hearing loss, physical limitations and personal comfort. Our hearing aid professionals will discuss every solution available to help you hear your best. Beyond that, we also offer a 30 day free trial period for your new hearing aid so you can take it home and see how it fits into your lifestyle on a daily basis. That way instead of being committed to a particular hearing aid that you’ve only tried at our office, you’ll get to take it home and hear the difference it makes around the people that matter the most to you.
